Slava Dalvin (Viacheslav Horevoi) was born in Kyiv (Ukraine) in August 1974. His youth coincided with the 1990s – ‘a time of change and great upheaval’ (the end of communist ideology, the collapse of the USSR). He is a philologist by education and a teacher of Russian and Ukrainian language, literature and the history of world artistic culture by profession. He is raising five children; he loves literature, philosophy, and Russian and world literary classics. His preferred genres are the novel, the essay, the novella and the play. He writes books because he cannot help but write.
